Kid’s Camp on the Farm
We love hosting our week-long Nature-Based Kid’s Camp every August for kids ages 6-11! Our campers have fun working on creative projects while learning about topics such as vegetables, gardening, birds, and more from our talented instructors!
Parents comment that this is different from any other camp that their children have been to.
It’s not over-structured, there is no technology.
Just animals, plants, dirt, bugs and FUN.
We had new and returning campers this past August. It’s amazing to watch the older kids showing the newer ones the ropes. From petting and caring for a Crested Pekin duck, to using hammers and sandpaper to build, there were projects galore. We made concrete mushrooms for the garden, looms out of cardboard to knit, and wood-burned keepsakes.
The most rewarding activity is teaching about and harvesting vegetables. The kids washed and prepped them all and then shared meal on the last day. And, as if that weren’t enough, they made pickles, and even set up their own farm stand where they learn to make change.
“Spending time at the farm—caring for animals, being outdoors, getting her hands in the dirt, learning, creating, and simply slowing down, has given our daughter joy, confidence, connection, and a safe place to just be a kid. If you’re looking for something truly meaningful for your children, I can’t recommend On The Way Farm Camp enough.
Thank you, Farmer Jill, for investing in our community and for loving these kids so well!”
